THE BARBADOS Muslim Association presented three secondary and four primary school with water coolers by yesterday at the Fontabelle, St Michael offices of TMR Sales and Service.
Springer Memorial, The Ellerslie School and St Leonard’s Boys’ School each received a standing water cooler, as did the Brandford Taitt Polyclinic while Wesley Hall Juniors, Westbury, St Mary’s and George Lamming primary schools now have wall-mounted units, befitting the height of the younger children.
The donation is in the region of $15 000.
Treasurer of the Barbados Muslim Association Azhar Pandor told the media their faith encouraged them to actively engage in charitable donations.
“This presentation is part of the Association’s continued drive on behalf of the Muslim community to assist tangibly in areas that can benefit a wide cross section of the Barbadian society,” Pandor said.
He revealed in the past they donated a water cooler to the Sir Winston Scott Polyclinic and had worked extensively with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Last month, they did a blood drive and will continue to give back to the community once the funds and donations come in.
TMR sales representative Troy Corbin said it was a “wonderful thing” the Muslim community was doing and was happy they had partnered with his company. (SAT)
